| This was named for the founder of the company, Masataka Taketsuru and is a big, bold full-bodied vatted whisky of truly exceptional depth, grace and balance. This unique bottle shape is an earlier domestic market bottling of the 12-year-old expression, which has been completely discontinued by Nikka. Tasting Notes~ Nose: Raisins, toffee, caramelized apple, vanilla, star anise, aniseed, ginger, mint and a hint of smoke. Palate: Raisins ,toffee, peaches and apples, with plenty of peat. These notes are followed by honey, salted caramel and black pepper. Finish: Medium, sweet, salty and peppery, with lingering notes of smoky peat. |
