Nose: very marvelous style, very grapey. Very nice whiffs of date liqueur and ultra-big notes of fruitcake. Tons of fruitcake. It’s also a little gamey, balsamic vinegar and cured ham Palate: strong but it seems that it’s all balanced yet rich, on many, many red berries and sweet/soft spices. not too ‘sherry-only’, rich, toasted and spicy. Notes of American oak, ginger, nutmeg, a little cinnamon. Finish: So long, clean, spicy. Some curry and ginger, orange marmalade. |
