| Number One Karuizawa 1967 TWE Single Cask ~ The legendary Karuizawa 1967 42yo from cask 6426. The oldest and most famous Karuizawa ever bottled when it appeared at the tail-end of 2009, we only ever had around 200 bottles of this one, and after Whiskyfun and Whiskynotes both gave it humungous 95 point scores, it sold out in a little over 24 hours. Tasting Note~ Color: Dark amber. Nose: Leather, precious wood, dry sherry, pipe tobacco, Cuban cigars, cedar wood, cough syrup, plum jam, very old Armagnac, a little tar, what an amazing complexity! Mouth: Big but beautiful oakiness, walnut liqueur, bitter chocolate, cherry stem tea, chewing tobacco, heavy liquorice, prunes, green tea from the oak, blackcurrant leaves tea, very old pu-erh teas Finish: Very long, superbly dry (coffee) and spicy (cloves) as well as beautifully raisiny.
