| Yamazaki 2012 Sherry Cask Bottling Note~ Distillery: Yamazaki Region: Japan Bottler: Official Bottled : 2012 Cask type : sherry Cask Tasting Note~ Color: Clear, deep teak with burnished bronze highlights. Nose:Blackened raisony burnt fruit cake, dried chocolate, vinous amontillado sherry and subtle clove spice. Faint mint jelly and quince jam. Palate: Heavy and bitter sweet with robust but not overly tannic or dry old oak, Christmas pudding, prunes, figs and burnt toffee. Finish: Long, burnt dried burnt and lingering mint jelly freshness. Unlike many other sherry whiskies, this takes a splash of water well. Combines enormous energies and good complexity, profile that’s not often to be found in Scotland whisky. |
