Bar Talk Series is a collaboration among THE WHISKYFIND and some of the best bars in the world, we introduce each annual selecting whisky to everyone, allowing whisky enthusiasts to understand the bar owner's favored whisky style and the soul of bar! ★Bar Kitchen, Fukuoka In 2002, Oka Tomoyuki established Bar Kitchen in Fukuoka, is now an important bar in Kyushu area. There isn't really a kitchen in the bar, the owner wants the customers to feel free in this place, just like walking around in their own kitchen. This bar has a collection of more than 3000 bottles of liquors, including more than 2000 bottles of single malt whiskies. The most famous event of Bar Kitchen was that it held the tasting event of Ichiro Akuto's Poker Cards Series in 2015. Today, you can still find a few Ichiro's Cards whiskies available by glass in Bar Kitchen, but sadly most of which were gone, leaving only empty bottles on the shelves. ★Golden Promise, Beijing Oitate Takao is from Kagoshima, he went to China in 2012, opened his own bar in Beijing named Bar Iori, which means little hut in Japanese. In 2017 his bar moved to a new place, and renamed as Golden Promise. There are more than 1200 bottles of whiskies in the bar, from whisky distilled in 1950s to modern whisky, Scotch to Japanese whisky, you can find almost everything here. No doubt Golden Promise is one of the best bars in Beijing. As a joint bottle for two whisky library like Golden Promise and Bar Kitchen, the two owners both selected their favorite combo: Islay peat and bourbon cask. This Port Charlotte was distilled in 2004, matured in bourbon barrel for 13 years, has very punchy peated style with vibrant fruity and floral flavors.
