With notes of sweet fruit, peat smoke and minerality, this is a benchmark Islay whisky and a great everyday peaty dram at this price. Awarded 96.5 points, and runner-up in Best Single Malt Scotch (No Age Statement) in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2017. Excellent young sweet peat. Extremely simple, very good – Serge Valentin Tasting Note~ Color : Gold Nose: Meaty and smoky, with touches of freshly cooked ham, burning logs, sea spray and rock pools. Palate: Mineral-led to start, becoming sweet, with milk chocolate, cinnamon, liquorice, apples and smoke. Finish: Sweet, spicy and very long – cinnamon-spiced chocolate and apples. |
