| Glenglassaugh Revival Highland Single Malt Whisky~ This is the first chance to try whisky produced by the recently re-opened Glenglassaugh Distillery.It was closed in 1986 but resumed production in 2008. This revival bottling is the first whisky to be made at the distillery since it reopened. Matured in a mixture of first and refill bourbon casks, this was finished for 6 months in first-fill oloroso sherry butts. Tasting Notes~ Color : Amber Nose: Sweet caramel and toffee with notes of nutty Sherry, milk chocolate and honey. Ripe plums, red berries and oranges. Caramelised sugar and earthy, charred oak. Palate: Sweet, rounded and creamy. Oranges, plums, cherry and walnuts, chocolate, honey-mead, Sherry and soft, spiced oak. Finish: Medium with warming mulled-wine spices, Sherry and caramel. |
