Date Distilled: 25 Oct 1994 Cask Type: 2nd Fill Hogshead / EX-Bourbon Amount: 240 bottles Tasting Notes~ The deep colour invited us in and we obliged, knowing we would not be disappointed. Initial impressions were fruity (cape gooseberries, apricots, lemon and orange peel, stewed apples) and winey, one panellist suggested orange Muscat dessert wine. The taste was one of depth and sweetness. The Muscat wine was now in some sort of reduced fruit coulis served with a pineapple and banana dessert. Water saw runny honey drizzled onto freshly planed oak, though we weren’t sure why one might do such a thing… Light, floral and slightly acidic with a pineapple fizz/tartness. The taste held lots of tangy fruit (orange, nectarine, kumquat) and the winey note reverberated in the finish. |
