TTL stands for Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation. Cask Type: Finished in Black Queen Grape Barrel Bottle Number: One of 700 bottles released Cask Num : 21090330 / 21090350 / 21090353   Taiwan Grape Black Queen Cask Tasting Note~ Taiwan rising star in world whisky field,Surprisingly though won many of world competition awards, they are quite experimental in their whisky making. This flavor Black Queen which is the exclusively black grape use in eating fruit and red wine making processing in Taiwan, rich with juice and tropical island aroma , mid tannin with acceptable sweetness and earthy green after taste. Likewise, for the Japanese Hibiki which is aged in umeshu or plum liqueur barrels, OMAR was aged in lychee liqueur barrels. Taste-wise, upfront sweetness, nice floral undertones and that unmistakable lychee flavor. This has very solid flavors and a good intensity. I really like the nose on this one. Also, the grassy/herbal note reminds of flavours find in a Longmorn. The tea biscuit note is a nice touch. Admittedly there’s not much of a “wow” factor here, but that’s fine. This one’s well done in a straightforward way. Better than the Omar Original, I think, with more clarity of flavours and a better oak influence. Recommended. |
