| Springbank 25 years Bottling Note~ Distillery: Springbank Country: Scotland Region: Campbeltown Bottler: Official Distillery Series : Rare 2006 Vintage Bottling Vintage : 25 Yo Tasting Note~ Color: pale amber with green hues. Nose: much oakier, maltier and more complex right at first nosing. Quite some vanilla and caramel crème, toasted brioche, cornflakes, even maple syrup, a few spices (a little nutmeg, white pepper, hints of dried ginger). rather fruitier, overripe apples and pears, cooked apricots, strawberries, toffee as well and finally a little ginger ale and something slightly meaty (ham). It’s good whisky on the nose, definitely. Palate : powerful. Lots of oak, lots of spices (cloves, ginger, nutmeg, pepper) and quite some crystallised citrus fruits (mainly orange zests). Nice bitterness in the background. Gets woodier and woodier, also a little grassy. Finish : Long, drying and rather oaky, salt and notes of burnt cake plus something slightly metallic. And coconut. |
