| Caol Ila 1978 25 years Cask Strength Bottling Note~ A robust, complex, natural cask- strength malt aged in American and European oak refill casks, from a connoisseur’s Islay distillery. The oldest official bottling from the Caol Ila distillery, this 25 year old Islay single malt was released as one of just 6,000 bottles, distilled in 1978 and bottled in 2003 at cask strength. Tasting Note~ Color:Deep gold / brassy color. Nose:Firm , fresh , smooth- bodied with medicinal ‘ attack’. Palate:Peat smoke and creamy frit on the nose , sweetly floral and drying to taste , then very maritime. Finish:Lingering , smoky finish. |
