| This is a 9 year Springbank that was matured in a refill bourbon cask for 7 years and finished in a Marsala cask for an additional 2 years. Distilled : OCT.1996 Bottled : AUG.2006 Amount : 1140 BT Tasting note~ Color : Amber. Nose : Marsala comes through as subtle plums and black cherry up front. Funky barley with subtle burning leaves follows. Overall, a fairly closed off nose. Palate : Marsala influence much more noticeable here as it really opens up with stewed fruits, raisins, and brown sugar. Some of that typical funky barley note from Springbank is washed away by the Marsala influence. Finish : Slightly papery with funky oak and minimal fruits - fades rather rapidly. |
