百富威士忌蒸餾廠( Balvenie Distillery)的名字來自於一座12世紀的城堡叫百富城堡(Balvenie Castle)，城堡離蒸餾廠只有500公尺距離。威廉格蘭(William Grant)建立百富蒸餾廠。廠址就在格蘭菲迪酒廠(Glenfiddich Distillery)的旁邊。剛開始時用一間荒廢的18世紀的宅第叫Balvenie New House做廠房，樓上是發芽室樓下就是存放威士忌木桶的倉庫。
Balvenie Castle的磚石很多就被搬去修建Balvenie New House，它的地下室就是鼎鼎有名的百富24號倉庫 (The New House Basement Warehouse #24)。這座城堡最知名的故事是關於一個美麗女貴族叫Margaret Douglas，她的兩任丈夫都參與推翻國王的叛變但都失敗被處死，但是國王因為Margaret的美貌，破例讓她保留她貴族的身份，並浪漫地承諾只要每年以一朵玫瑰花做為美麗女貴族住在百富城堡的租金。非常特殊限量罕見的第一版本，主要在於慶祝百富城堡，於1460年第一朵年租金紅玫瑰至今的悠久歷史。

The Balvenie Rose was created to celebrate the long history of Balvenie Castle, the annual rent of which was fixed at a single red rose in 1640. For each batch of The Balvenie Rose, Malt Master David Stewart selected 4 refill American oak casks and transferred their contents of aged Balvenie to a first fill port pipe for a final period of maturation.
Two batches of The Balvenie Rose have been produced and sold exclusively at The Balvenie Distillery. Each batch was characterised by a distinctive reddish hue, a floral aroma and a rich, fruity taste.
Rare 1st Release. A very special limited release bottle to celebrate the long history of Balvenie Castle, the annual rent of which was fixed at a single red rose in 1460.
A 1991 vintage of four casks matured in a first fill port pipe has produced a rich and fruity single malt. One of just 426 bottles.
Tasting note~
Color: Distinctive Reddish
Nose: A delicate, citrus aroma with subtle floral notes of rose petals and lavender. The addition of a little water releases sweet orange blossom, soft fruits and gentle oak notes.
Palate: Velvety smooth with light, fresh fruit layers of apricot, peach and pear and sweet oak notes.
Finish: Slightly spicy with a lingering warm afterglow.
