| The BALVENIE 17 years Sherry Cask Old Version Bottling Note~ This limited edition release from 2007 spent all 17 years of its maturation in first fill Oloroso sherry casks. The result pays homage to the casks’ southern Spanish origins - a rich and intense single malt, characterized by mixed spice and sweet sherry fruitiness. Tasting Note~ Color:mahogany copper highlights. Nose: rich and greedy, he first reveals notes apples with spices, caramelized pears and toasted almonds followed by a beeswax touch, complemented by fresh spices. Palate: Intense and spicy, the spicy notes of cinnamon and distrust, enhancing sweet and fruity aromas of Sherry. Tip: add a few drops of pure water to reveal a delicate hint of vanilla, enhanced by the aromas of fruit and wood tannins. Finish: rich and long think sherry dram, also rewardingly long and rich with a touch of dryness at the very end. Award~ 2007 MMA Silver Medal. |
