| GLENLIVET 14 years Single Cask Edition Bottling Note~ One of the most famous malts in the world, perhaps on account of the story of George Smith,an illegal distiller in Speyside who went legit when he obtained the first licence to legally distill whisky in 1824. Brand: Glenlivet Edition: Cairngorms Barrel number: 32174 Bottled: 19th Feb 2014 Vintage: 14 yo Tasting Note ~ Color: Deep gold. Nose:Starts amazingly quiet, a tad shy, with a few oaky and orangey notes flying around. Hints of old white wine, sauce hollandaise, maybe a little sourish. With water: opens up but gets rather winey (cassis buds tea) and unexpectedly earthy/rooty. Notes of cranberry juice. A little dusty. Maybe lacks a little polishing Taste: Powerful. Orange drops and bitter tea ,gingery and a tad ‘chemical’ (cheap fruit drops). Finish: long, more on strawberry drops. A little cardboardy too. One of the extremely rare bottles usually shows in auction event, now our collection brings to you in affordable price. |
