GLENMORANGIE The TAGHTA Cask Master's selection Bottling Note~ This is the new Glenmorangie edition described as "the first ever crowd managed single malt". Whisky lovers around the globe were given the chance to have influence over aspects of its production. These so-called “Cask Masters” came from 30 different countries and participated in the bottle design, the labelling, the photography, and the selection of the whisky. The result is a non-chill filtered expression which has received a finishing period in ex-Manzanilla casks. Aptly titled, "Taghta", (Scott's Gaelic for "Chosen"), it was limited to 12,000 bottles, originally only intended for those involved in the development process. We have secured a tiny allocation for Aussie whisky enthusiasts. Tasting Note ~ Color: Gold. Nose:Elegant with fresh butter, much less dryminerality/mustard/walnuts, and rather more golden raisins, dried apricots, more honey. A little more walnuts after ten minutes, though. Taste: Zesty with lemongrass, blond tobacco, surely quite some pepper, lemon marmalade and more honey again. Finish: Good length. More orange and lemon marmalade, a touch of white pepper, a drop of walnut wine, perhaps, and a little ginger. |
