Talisker為斯開島上唯一的蒸餾廠，1830年由 休與肯尼斯‧麥卡斯吉爾兄弟創立。1848年售予北方蘇格蘭銀行，租借給唐諾‧麥克里蘭（1963年破產）而後由約翰‧安德森（1987年破產）承接。亞 歷山大‧格里戈爾 ‧艾倫及羅德里克‧坎姆帕接手後，到了1898年，大力斯可成為銷售單一純麥威士忌最大的蒸餾廠之一。
蒸餾廠的碼頭及小屋於1900年建立。1941-45年二次大戰期間關廠。1960年的火災燒毀了蒸餾室。1962年重新開廠增加了使用U形扭曲的 林恩臂蒸餾器，開始採用二次蒸餾。1972年停止地板發麥；蒸餾廠至今仍舊採用燃油蒸汽加熱。1987年前以8年份裝瓶銷售，其後則改以10年份裝瓶並成 為Classic Malts威士忌系列之一。
A 2012 bottling of Talisker's 30 year old, massively satisfying single malt from the distillery on the Isle of Skye. Also, the box is jazzier than previous 30 year old releases! Nice! 3,186 bottles were produced.
Testing note~
Nose: Elegant smoke blends together effortlessly with red fruits and coastal peat.
Palate: A finely-tuned balance of sweetness from plump berries and an enjoyable peppery heat. Its age shines through.
Finish: Final flourishes of smoke and salinity.
Overall: An elegant, refined and wholly exhilarating Talisker.
