Macallan 18 1980 Bottling Note~ A special release of 18 year old single malt from The Macallan, distilled in 1980 and bottled in 1999. While Macallan is well known for their Sherry cask-matured whiskies, "Sherried" does not even do this one justice. The Gran Reserva releases are seriously super Sherried and highly sought after - the 1980 vintage is particular popular within the series. Tasting Note~ Color: Deep amber. Nose: caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, white pepper and lots of spices ,clove, nutmeg Palate: Very smooth, lots of sherry, lots of chocolate, dried orange… Hints of peat and spices. Some very nice woody notes. A perfect balance. Finish: Long, very entertainment. |
