| Glenglassaugh 1967 Bottling Note~ This Glenglassaugh was distilled almost half a century ago, just after the distillery was reopened in the early sixties. Glenglassaugh has been closed and re-opened three times in its history so the opportunity to try some of this whisky between closures is always exciting. Distilled：July1967 Bottled：July 2012 Bottle Num：372 BT Tasting Note~ Color: Gold/apricoty. Nose:Quite aromatic, whiffs of old wood, old wine cellar, Spanish ham and then a little game. Touches of date spirit, tobacco, brand new leather pouch, a little mud, very old pinot noir (gamy indeed)... Again a nice nose. Palate: with nice touches of raspberry jam, a little grenadine, maybe greengages... Having said that, there are quite some spices in the background again, cinnamon, pepper, cloves, cardamom (lots)... Before it gets sweeter again with, maybe, some blackcurrant jelly. Finish: Medium long, with a pleasant balance between the green spices and the fruits. |
